Founded in 1986, the Korea Festival Ensemble is South Korea’s premier chamber music organization, renowned for delivering the true essence of classical music through a unique blend of unconventional, experimental performances and steadfast tradition. Comprising over 50 top-tier artists—spanning strings, winds, percussion, keyboard, and vocals—the ensemble boasts a versatile structure capable of flawlessly realizing any chamber music configuration while continuing its innovative pursuit of the future.

The ensemble’s international presence has elevated the prestige of Korean chamber music on the global stage, with invited performances at world-renowned venues including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Sendai Bach Hall in Japan, and the Konzerthaus in Germany.
Their artistic excellence has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Music Dong-a Grand Prize in 1993, the Art of the Year Award in 2006, the Minister of Health and Welfare’s Award in 2014, and the Grand Prize for the Sound of Hope Korea in 2016, along with honors from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Korean Association of Music Critics.
